Join your neighbors, Bethel for All and the White River Valley School for a free BBQ and community action workshop!

BBQ meal provided by JDQ BBQ, followed by an interactive workshop to hear findings from the first phase of Bethel for All and develop top action ideas for safer streets, accessible village, vibrant parks and public spaces, and a thriving economy. All ages welcome; kids activities provided.

Event Details

When: Sunday, May 1, 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM. (Meal starts at 12:30 PM, workshop at 1 PM)

Where: White River Valley Middle School, 273 Pleasant Street, Bethel VT

What: Free community BBQ meal, followed by an interactive workshop to help design action projects for a more vibrant and accessible Bethel village. Hear the findings from the first phase of the Bethel for All project and help decide what improvements we should make to our downtown streets, parks, public spaces, buildings, and community.

Who: YOU! Everyone is welcome — whatever your age, whether you live in Bethel, go to school here, shop or work here, or just love to visit. Kids activities provided.

We welcome people of all ages and abilities and particularly encourage people with disabilities to join us. The White River Valley School has accessible parking near the middle school door and an accessible entrance.

Bonus! Earn Volunteer Time Credits in the White River Time Exchange

We appreciate you volunteering your time to help make Bethel safer and more vibrant! As a thank you, we’re glad to offer time credits through the White River Time Exchange. You can use the credits to get free services or assistance from other neighbors with things like house or yard work, writing or website building, childcare or errands.

To get your credits:

  • Visit https://whiteriver.timebanks.org/ and create a free account. Once your account is approved, you can set up your profile.

  • If you come to a scheduled walk, give us your name at the end and we will record your time credit for you.

  • If you use a DIY kit and go on your own, contact us through the time exchange. Click “requests,” find Bethel for All’s walk survey request, and click “contact Bethel Strong / Bethel for All about this request.” Send us a message with the number of hours you volunteered and we will record the exchange.
