Pocket Parks (help name us!)

The Bethel “Pocket parks” are tiny public spaces with great big views in Bethel village. These three town-owned parcels blend in with the landscape and you might not know they are public. But anyone is allowed to sit, picnic, and watch the river.

A: The photo to the right was taken from the first pocket park, which is right between the Bandshell and the Church Street bridge. It’s a small, grassy area in front of house and line of trees, extending over to the river.

B: You can see the second park in this shot — it’s the grassy hillside across the bridge, just above the stone retaining wall. It’s a great place to sit with a picnic. You can even fish above the dam.

C: The third park is just north of the Bethel Village Sandwich Shop. Look for the white picket fence and set of stairs. Head down the stairs for a nice view of the dam from the lower fence.

Address: A: in front of 69 Lower Church Street; B: north of 271 Main Street; C: between 269 and 271 Main Street

Accessibility: none

Hours and Seasons: Open year round, all hours.
